Check In

Use the following gate code to access the property and parking:

Gate code: 2580

Please note that the gate does not close automatically, so when leaving you'll have to close manually.  Also be careful the pedestrian gate isn't open when you open the car gate.

There is generally not staff present at the property during arrivals, so you'll do a self check-in.  We will leave the door open and the keys inside on the table--but please lock up whenever you leave.

Check Out

  1. Turn off all AC units & lights
  2. Lock front door (and return key to key safe)
  3. Send us a message to let us know--safe travels!

Property Information

WiFi / Internet

Network: Jungle Creek

Password: Jungle2012

TV

There is a flatscreen TV in the living area which you can use for streaming services, though you'll have to sign in to your own personal accounts in order to do so.

Air Conditioning

There are mini-split AC units in each of the bedrooms, and also the living area. Please do not set below 20 degrees Celsius (68 Fahrenheit), as this may cause the units to freeze up. Electricity is expensive in Costa Rica AND we want to protect the environment, so please turn off the AC units when you’re not using them, or leaving the property for longer than 1 hour.

Laundry & Towels

Our guests may use the laundry facilities next door at Jungle Creek. There is a trail and break in the fence for easy access. Please do not put shoes or sandy clothing in the washer, as it is easily damaged. Please reuse when possible. Also, please use only the beach towels for the beach and pool area. Lost or damaged towels will incur a fee of $20/each.

Electric Gate / Parking

The electric gate works via the aforementioned code.  If the electricity goes out for any reason the gate will naturally not work and if needed we will send someone over to open manually. There is also a pedestrian gate, and the key is on the main key ring.

Pool

The pool is for the enjoyment of our guests, though please use at your own risk and never leave children unattended. Please do not use glassware in the pool, as broken glass will result in an expensive cleaning charge. Our pool is serviced three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.  There is also a pool net to remove leaves during the off days.

Security

While Manuel Antonio is a safe area, please ensure the safety of your possessions and the property while you are here. Always lock the door and gate when you leave, and use the provided safe. Never leave your valuables in your car, especially when at the beach or in Quepos.

Housekeeping

Post-stay maid service is included, and a mid-week housekeeping service is included for stays of 7 nights or more. Be sure to coordinate day & time beforehand with your concierge to ensure availability. Our housekeeper works hard! If you feel it is deserved a tip is always greatly appreciated!

Toilet Paper & Sanitary Products

Our septic system is easily damaged, so please through all toilet paper and sanitary products in the trash bin.

Nearby

La Luna

Great, high-end restaurant in the Gaia hotel with nice sunset views. (Recommend having a drink on the rooftop where you can see Villa Mar y Sol!)

Turn Right on the main road and go 1 min until you see the entrance to the Gaia Hotel on your right. Park and they will take you up in a golf cart, which is also cool.

Ronny's Place

Local restaurant with great sunset views & sangria. Try the bananas flambé--but be sure to wear fire-retardant clothing!

Turn Right on the main road and then take the first Left. Drive up past another (new) sunset drinks place--Ronny's is higher up.

Playa Vaca

Playa La Macha

A 30-40 minute hike takes you to a rocky, little-visited beach that translates literally as ‘Cow Beach’. Not a great place for swimming, but beautiful nonetheless.  Combine with Playa La Macha for an internediate hike (or with drinks at Ronny's Place afterwards!).

Go downhill past Ronny's place, take the first RIght and park, then hike 10 min down to the beach.

Playa La Macha

El Salto Waterfall

Playa La Macha

Another 20-minute hike from Playa Vaca takes you to beautiful Playa la Macha, which is sandy with large rocks (be cautious when swimming). Best at low tide.  Clothing optional.

Either hike from Playa Vaca, or turning Left in front of the Bongo hotel, driving down then back up a hill, parking and hiking 15 min down to the beach.

El Salto Waterfall

El Salto Waterfall

El Salto Waterfall

A 45-minute hike along a creek takes you to the top of one of Manuel Antonio’s only waterfalls – El Salto. The hike isn't strenuous--but somewhat challenging due to roots and crossing the creek several times. We don't recommend jumping.

From Villa Mar y Sol head down the hill and veer Left twice until you come to the entrance of Rio Mono / Riverside.  Straight ahead is a dodgy, rusted metal bridge that marks the trailhead. (Caution if you cross the bridge!)

Bus Stop

El Salto Waterfall

El Salto Waterfall

Turn Right on the main road an go 50m. Just in front of Amigos del Rio, the public bus stops every 15 min during the day for the beach or Quepos, and every 30 min from 6-9pm.  The cost is approximately $1.50 one-way.

Sloths ride for free.

FAQS

What’s the closest beach?

The closest beach is Playa Espadilla—the main public beach. Turn left on the main road and drive 6 minutes to the end. Park where you want—not where the shady guy in the orange vest tells you to park.

Is the water drinkable?

Yes—the public water is drinkable in Costa Rica.

What if the electricity or water goes out?

The Costa Rican electrical and water systems are very dated. Occasionally, there are lapses in electricity, water or internet—though these are generally short-lived. If any of these services goes out for longer than 30 minutes, please inform your property manager immediately to be sure. Also look to see if the neighbors have electricity to let us know.

Who do I contact to set up tours & services?

Your concierge! She is always available to assist, and knows the best tour operators, transportation companies, guides, chefs and spa therapists in town. Please reserve well ahead of time to ensure availability. For some tours & services there is a deposit required, and no cancellations after 5pm the night before. Please ask your concierge for details.

Is the kitchen stocked?

In terms of food—no, though your concierge can help set up delivered groceries before your arrival or during your stay. In terms of cooking implements—yes. There are full cooking utensils, pots & pans, a coffee-maker, blender, microwave, toaster, stove, oven, and refrigerator.. There is also salt, pepper, vegetable oil, and paper towels.

Can we check-in early / check-out late?

The usual check-out time is 10:00am, and the usual check-in time is 3:00pm. If there are no other guests leaving / arriving on the day of your arrival / departure, we can be flexible with the time—however, this can only be confirmed 3 days prior to arrival.

Do I need an electrical adapter for my gear?

Not if you are from North America—the plugs and electricity in Costa Rica are the same as in the U.S.—110 volt.

Where do I get groceries?

For groceries we recommend going to Quepos, to the Mini Price store, or just outside of Quepos to BM.

Is there Uber or are taxis nearby?

Uber technically isn't legal in Costa Rica yet. Taxis are easy and affordable, however. You can order a taxi via Whatsapp:

Quepos Taxis:

Whatsapp: 8908-0842

Phone: 2777-0425 & 2777-1207
